Good article. I knew the story (eccentric dude, the mound incident on 4192, drugs, early demise) but I didn't know about his childhood. Explains a lot.

Did any of you guys see the MLB network thing they did about '84 Padres? Real interesting stuff. They talked a bit about Show but also former Oriole Alan Wiggins who was also on that club. Show seems like he was an interesting guy. Sad story all around.

His was the second autograph I ever got at a major league game. It was my second big league game at age 14, and Craig McMurtry signed a card for me, and then on the Padres' side, Show signed for me. I'll always remember Mr. Show.
