Note - I have no inside information, but I am trying to go 2/2 on lineup predictions here.

I'm guessing:

Nick Markakis - RF

David Lough - LF

Adam Jones - CF

Chris Davis - 1B

Nelson Cruz - DH

J.J. Hardy - SS

Matt Wieters - C

Ryan Flaherty - 3B

Jonathan Schoop - 2B

Flip-flop Hardy and Wieters and I think you have it. Buck loves to go R-L-R-L when possible. I think you might as well have Lough leadoff if he's going to be that high in the order, but Buck probably keeps Nick there.

In a way tonight's game is actually better than OD. OD day is great of course, a celebration of baseball. But tonight is the return to normalcy. Pregame at 6:30, 7:05 start time. The start of the marathon. Baseball is BACK baby!!!

Yup. Going to the game and the sun came out. What could be better? Winning the billion in the Warren Buffer NCAA challenge. But I think I did not get all my picks right.. :)

    • Adley quietly is 5th in the AL in hitting.  .322 BA.
    • If that's the case, then there have been several missed opportunities with recent thread titles.  Some proposed revisions:   There's a developing situation with Jackson Holliday.  Mike Elias' biggest failure? Michael Kopech could be an Oriole by Memorial Day.  The situation is still developing. Jim Bowden has made a semi-rational trade proposal.  No word yet on a possible identity theft. ... Fun.
    • Crappy umping.  Hyde needs to be more vocal.  The umps are a variable that our hitters can't control.  It's like when the Rays were becoming a powerhouse and had all of those brawls.  We don't need brawls, but we do need our manager to be more vocal.  O'Hearn took one for the team last night.   None of the young guys want to get labeled like Machado did.
    • https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2024.shtml Team BA: .254 10th in MLB Team HRs: 54 1st in MLB Team RBIs 174 4th in MLB Team Hit 197 12th in MLB Team Runs 180 6th in MLB Team OBP .306 17th in MLB Team SLG .441 2nd in MLB Team OPS .747 3rd in MLB Team OPS+ 117 2nd in MLB Team Walks 89 one more than last place CWS   Roy, I think they are hitting the ball just fine. But this team has a problem with getting on base and specifically taking a walk. Free swinging clubs are streaky.
    • Please state your facts without trolling. You have your opinions, Sports Guy has his. Make your points, put in your stats, and stop trolling the other person. Who cares if SG has a different opinion then you? Really, it's not that different. You both think he's a SP prospect.  Heck, if you want to go troll anyone, go troll the guy who just compared Povich to Zimmermann, Rom and Vespi! LOL (Don't troll anyone, that was a joke).
    • Great insights.  We've seen the same thing happen with all of our recent prospects.  Hopefully, this winning will let our batters start getting some respect on their names with the umps.  I like how none of them really argue, and last night O'Hearn sort of took one for the team/youngins.  I like Hyde.  Great manager, but maybe he needs to be a little more vocal with these umps.  We've done the nice guy act.  Now it's time to win when everyone is gunning for us.
    • Thank you for saving me some typing. My only nitpick is Povich is working on a cutter to offset his fastball and I'm not sure that Povich is a nibbler vs he doesn't have great command yet.  Comparing him to Rom or even Zimmermann is off point for sure. Povich is much better pitching prospect then either of them. He's dominating both righties and lefties right now. The Vespi comparison is silly as well. Povich probably could be a very good reliever for the Orioles right now, but he's definitely more value as SP depth while he keeps working on his command. He's definitely next up if the Orioles need a starter.
