Pitching and defense, bro. That's what most games (and subsequently most pennants) usually come down to. If Brian continues to progress like he's been and our defense is solid, they can put almost anyone out there, and we're almost assured of a win tonight.

While we're talking Bedard... Chen reminds me more of Bedard than Matusz does because of Chen's ability to spot on the inside corner to righties.

Completely agree on the fastball. When I see him throw that fastball inside, I always think to myself "He just Bedard'd that guy." His stuff is more similar to Matusz's, though.

EDIT: Just realized you were comparing Bedard to Matusz/Chen not Chen to Bedard/Matusz.

I really wish that Palmer were stop misinforming people by calling Matusz's slider a curveball. I know they look similar, but his curve is in the mid-70's.
