In the meantime, Auburn is flying high, and beaming with pride over their huge road win today ....... and will be looking for a little payback against both Georgia and Alabama, whom both defeated Auburn last year by a combined score of 87-0.

Man, I'm so excited for this game. It feels so much like 1989. I can't believe it's still 3 more days away.

We're gonna have to hit some deep passes. Otherwise, Bama can just put 8 or 9 in the box and try to stuff our run game. Also, we have to put Bama in 3rd and passing situations. If we do that, our D-Line is good enough to pin their ears back and make it tough on AJ, because he's not mobile enough to hurt us (knock on wood).

It's definitely shaping up to be a great one.

That's the key. Stopping the Auburn running attack that is 6th in the nation. If AU can run on Bama it's over. Clock and ball control is the way AU wins this game. If the Bama D line brings there A game it's a Bama win.

The 1993 Iron Bowl was much like the 1993 Auburn team ...... forgotten.

Those 1993 Auburn Tigers went 11-0, and were the only undefeated team in the nation. But like last year's Ohio State Buckeyes (12-0, and also the only undefeated team in the nation that year), that Auburn team was on probation, and were subsequently ineligible for the S.E.C. conference championship, any bowl games, and were excluded from one of the two major polls (the coaches poll.)

Last year, I started a thread in regard to that 1993 Auburn team in relation to the previously-mentioned 2012 Ohio State team:

Now, ESPN's Alex Scarborough reminisces about that forgotten 1993 Iron Bowl ...... and that forgotten 1993 Auburn team.
