Buck and Dan make a great team, but on the fringes of the roster, there are players who seem to me to be either Buck guys or Dan guys. Teagarden was a Buck guy. Yamaico Navarro was a Dan guy.

I think this is a case where Duquette likes him more. A 2 year contract for a middle reliever EARLY in free agency is irrational exuberance on the Duquette scale. I clearly remember a Dan comment that he's just like Jim Johnson around the time we got him.

Johnson was a Buck guy, and I think Buck was slow to trust Webb early on. I think Duquette expected Webb to be better than someone who would ride the Norfolk-Baltimore shuttle, but it just didn't work out that way. Everyone pitching that well was the classic good problem to have.
