NO. I did not say that. Why is it so hard to accurately represent another poster's views? The comments are right there. RIGHT THERE I said he should not be replaced. I was asked point blank, I responded with no obfuscation and yet I'm accused of saying something different. RSNJ was even satisfied with the response. -

The main issue I have with Maton is that he's not very good. His .666 MLB OPS tracks with his .747 minor league OPS. And he's played a grand total of 37 games in the outfield (28 starts) in his pro career. 14 games in Norfolk add almost nothing to our knowledge of his ability. -

Not in Baltimore. He's a smaller, pull hitter with moderate power. That won't play well in Camden Yards. I think he has the potential to be an everyday player for a team with kinder dimensions in left, and ideally playing LF rather than 2B. But more likely that he ends up a platoon or bench guy. -
I guess we could argue over what constitutes a trend but Flaherty, arguably, had his best month of the year in July (5 starts 3.03 ERA). One could certainly argue that he was trending up at the time of the trade. P.S. Fuji was with the A’s.
