I think the absence of Hardy, especially on defense, is hurting us a lot more than Weiters. Weiters would be a big upgrade at backup catcher. I hope that Buck at least splits time between Weiters and Joseph when Weiters returns.

Sorry, screwed up the poll... but yeah, I agree that Hardy is the one that's really hurting. Having solid defense up the middle is huge, especially for a marginally good pitching staff like ours.

They will be better than Cabrerra and Lavarnway but not enough to make the O's competitive.

Not sure I understand this comment. The Orioles are already competitive without them, and Hardy and Wieters are better players than the guys they'd be replacing. Why would the O's stop being competitive when Hardy and Wieters come back?

But, Wieters is the reason the starting pitching is failing.

They also had Nelson Cruz. The return of Wieters and Machado was one of the reasons given to us why we didn't replace what we lost. Well that can only go so far if those guys are still hurt and miss a larger amount of time.
