De Aza would be the tenth batter.....So, yea.

You don't bat around the order if the tenth hitter doesn't come to the plate.

If all nine hitters make a plate appearance but the ninth hitter is the last out, then technically you didn't "bat around" so yes, it takes seeing a tenth hitter to claim "you batted around the order".
