Chris Parmalee Had an Opt-out?

It would be nice to have his bat on the team but there isn't anywhere to put him at the moment. Especially with Davis getting hot. Maybe some DH spots because Paredes is in a funk at the moment but he will get a little more rope. No space in the OF even with DeAza gone.

If he is smart he will stick around since he will be added in September and be on the 40 man this winter heading into ST with the chance to win the everyday 1B gig next year.

Here's how Parmalee's minor league numbers have teased teams for years. Other than 2011, when teams didn't know him, he hasn't been able to produce at an acceptable level in the majors.

True, and Parmalee is only 9 months older than Paredes. Maybe it has something to do with the first 3 letters of the last name. That would be Par excellence!

You're right. Paredes will get a little rope, no much though. I can't see Buck waiting too long if he goes into a pronounced slump. Anyone else notice the attitude over the last week that he's been in decline? Shaking his head a lot and questioning strike calls and then after making an out he's talking to himself. Very possible he returns to what he's always been.

At least Parmalee has a good approach and probably has better on base capabilities even if he's never had sustained success at the ML level. Good call on next year as well. I see no chance we re-sign Davis.
