LOL, first of all, his oWAR is 1.2. His defensive numbers are basically irrelevant since he doesn't play the field unless he has too. Second, he has only 337 plate appearance which is basically half a year. Even if one uses his 0.9 WAR which includes defense, he would be a 1.8 over a full season. If that is the definition of "pretty bad" for a player making the ML minimum, we may have an issue.

His production is what it is. You can remove defense if you'd like, but it is apart of the value he has created for us this year. And that value has him at a less than 1 WAR player. Offensively, he's 1.2 who we have platooned to get him to that point. So he can't play the field, doesn't exactly "mash," and you have to platoon him just to get the offensive production we have received from him. You're arguing he is okay offensively. So he's a DH you have to platoon to get okay offensive production from.
