I think he clarified what he meant by a top starter. A 1,2, or 3. So I agree.

Gallardo would be our #1. Latos would probably be our #3. Either one would be a #4 or #5 on a better team.

I agree. I am not in favor of Gallardo. But it would not be a stretch for DD to call him a #3.
