I do not.

I don't think anyone associated with the team thinks that would be a good idea.

Davis plays a pretty good RF....for a first baseman.

He'll wear out by August out there running down fly balls. He's a great tool for Buck to have, in very small doses.

If Mancini is tearing up Triple A in May and we are getting nothing from RF or LF, you better believe he will be up here and Davis or Trumbo will playing in the OF.

This is a very realistic scenario.

Who's the last Norfolk batter who tore up AAA? Even Wieters, in the middle of his epic minor league rampage, OPS'd under .900 there.

Norfolk OPS leaders (min 200 PAs):

2015 Parmelee .831

2014 Weeks .783

2013 Valencia .857

2012 Ford .940

2011 Fox .842

2010 Moore .821

2009 Salazar 1.026 (in 213 PAs)

2008 Salazar .883

2007 House .828

Your typical best-hitting Tide is in the low/mid 800s.

His stint at Norfolk was the season after his epic season. It might have served as a cautionary tale if the hype machine had not already reached overload.

I'd say an .800 plus OPS sustained over a couple months could earn him a shot in the big leagues considering the league and ballpark.

Nolan Reimold in 2009, just prior to his call-up to the Orioles that May.

I was fortunate enough to see him and Wieters play against the AAA-Scranton Yankees that year. I also saw Wieters play the previous year in a doubleheader against AA-Harrisburg.

If the Orioles signed real outfielders this wouldn't be a debate. Nope, instead of filling the holes on the team they bid against themselves to bring back Chris ".196" Davis. I wish they would have let another team overpay for him. Would it surprise anyone if at some point Davis' strikeouts were higher than his batting average?

I wouldnt be surprise if Davis leads the team in HR and RBIs and has a WAR of over 5+ and you would still find something to be unhappy about.

Where did the team finish in 2013 and 2015?

5 WAR...so 78 wins instead of 73 wins. Wonderful. Who cares if he leads a 4th or 5th place team in home runs and RBI.

Do you actually root for the Orioles?

Do you remember 2012 and 2014?

2013 they were in it, until the final series of the season.

2015, they were in it, until Early August.
