An appetizer, while we're waiting ......

******************

Archer was good today.

He was let down by his defense in the 4th inning when an error led to an unearned run (plus, a bunch of additional pitches.)

He had a shaky first inning, but 12 of the 15 outs that he recorded were via the strikeout.

15 OUTS: 12 Strikeouts, 2 Groundouts, 1 Lineout

He did run that pitch count up and didn't make it into the six.

Stroman, on the other hand, has been more economical.

He may have gone an additional inning if not for the error.

That said, a pitcher needs to occasionally get 4 outs in an inning, and not use errors as an excuse.

Good points overall ...... strikeouts are very good, but that is a lot of pitches for only 5 innings, with or without the error by his defense in the 4th inning.

Rain in the forecast for Baltimore 3-6 pm. Clearing later. How long will the hold the crowd before they move the game to sunny, but cool Tuesday?

Until Midnight. Opening Day is opening day. Light rain in April? Play though it. No T-Storms.

It depends on how heavy the rain is. Weather.com has rain from 3-5 and light rain form 5-6. Not sure how heavy "rain" is expected to be.

The forecast could always change. We could get no rain or it may not start until later in the day.

Weatherbug on my tablet is usually pretty accurate. As of right now for Monday:

Partly sunny in the morning, then mostly cloudy with showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. SW winds 10-15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH. Chance of rain 90%.

2PM 30% chance of rain

3PM 50% chance of rain

4PM 70% chance of rain

5PM 50% chance of rain

It's supposed to get real cold when the sun goes down plus the wind chill.
