MIGUEL ANGEL CASTRO )))))))) (vs. TIGERS, 8/03)

Entered the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning with a runner on 2nd base, and nobody out.

He finished that inning plus 5 more without allowing any runs, other than an inherited runner from Chris Tillman on a sacrifice fly in the previously-mentioned 3rd inning.

So he had 6 shutout innings, and he only threw 69 pitches in the process.

Castro's ERA for the season is a solid 2.73, and his WHIP is an equally solid 0.970.

Castro pitched reasonably well, recording 6 outs overall on 35 pitches.

He was charged with a run when one of his baserunners was walked home with the bases loaded by Zach Britton after Castro departed the game.

ON NO REST, Castro came right back to throw 2.33 additional shutout innings in the next game.

Not only that, but he entered the game with runners on 1st and 2nd base with nobody out. After inducing what appeared to be a line-drive double play, Tim Beckham threw the ball away to allow the runner on 2nd base to advance to 3rd with only 1 out. Still, Castro bore down and struck out the next batter before inducing the following batter to fly out to end the inning, stranding both inherited runners.

And Castro then tossed an additional 1.33 shutout innings (2.33 overall), throwing a grand total of 26 pitches in the process.

2017 ERA:llllllllll. 2.98

2017 WHIP: ..l.l.l 1.039 )  42.33 IP (44 H/BB)

2017 OPPONENTS BATTING AVG: ).220 )  (33 for 150)

I think we found another good BP arm

He got 92, down the middle, by Trout. He's an intriguing arm, a slow curve, intentional fb movement, a sharper/consistent slider, a much better change....2 of the 4 could make him an SP option. He gives up a decent number of smashed outs, but the arm is incredible.
