Fun with optionable pitchers

There's a reason why teams don't do this crazy amount of shuffling with pitchers...no organization has four or more ML ready arms in the minors ready to pitch and handle the ups and downs. Signing a bunch of cast offs and hoping something sticks to the wall was not a realistic strategy.

This system fits well with the O's non-development of young pitchers

Some teams would take their lumps with the ML roster, lose 100+ games, and work hard to develop their young pitchers not promoting them to the majors until they are ready

Well the O's may be able to only lose 90+ games with their system and maybe the ML exposure will be good for someone?

As in, these guys may or may not actually be pitchers.
