It's such desperate spending.  If this $ had been spent three, four and five years ago, instead of shedding draft picks when deal relievers, or internationally, we wouldn't have to make moves like this.

The owner's decision to spend $ now just makes a further mockery of the planning and spending in prior years IMO.

There's something very strange about this. I've commented on this a bunch of times in the past couple years. The Orioles spend freely on veteran player salaries, sometimes resembling the drunken sailor of MLB. But they're ridiculously, stupidly, self-destructively cheap as far as pretty much everything else is concerned.
