Now a double so far today; his BA is .352. I was wrong, I thought at least this year would be a value hole.

He did make a critical error in the 2nd....must be chaneling O’s outfield vibes.

3 hits last night. OPS now 1.006

This kind if nails one of my complaints about Nick post 2008: that he took too many meatballs and settled for cheap hits on pitchers pitches.  Which of course worked because he has amazing bat control inside the zone combined with a good eye.  But it was frustrating watching him take balls he should be driving into the gap.

If he only did this earlier...

According to ESPN he is now the 2nd most valuable player in the entire NL.  (2.0 WAR)   Not looking at pitchers.

Would be thrilled to see him start in the All Star Game this year...........not sure how I would react if he ends up getting MVP consideration.

I don't think he'll start, but he certainly looks to have a good shot at making the team, which would be awesome in and of itself.

The Orioles' near flawless(ly wrong) record of which FAs to retain and which to let go remains impressive.  I guess they got Wei-yin Chen right.

Nate McLouth.   Matt Wieters Round 2.

Also, Nick passed Jose Reyes for 6th place on the active players’ hit list.     That’s the highest he’ll be until next year, when Ichiro is no longer considered active:

Suzuki (44) 3089

Beltre (39) 3079

Pujols (38) 3006

Cabrera (35) 2666

Cano (35) 2417

Markakis (34) 2105

One of my favorite things I ever did was sponsored Nick's BBref page and made it look like Old5fan did it ?

Really happy for Nick, this is awesome.  Gonna be tuning in to some Braves games for sure.

I forget about that.  That was awesome!
