I like how everyone pretends they are always good and are somehow equivalent to the Yankees.  When the Yankees were bad and sold off they won 80 something games.  The Red Sox finished last.

I think it is an attitude....”Lowly”  is similar to garbage, scum, dirtbag...it is an epithet, not just a description of the position of the team.   That is why they feel free to use it towards us and not Boston or NY teams.

We’re a little beyond “last place.”    “Lowly” works well for a team playing .300 baseball.
