Again, I am just responding to the OP. I am not splitting hairs. I did not construct the criterion of which fan-base has suffered the longest.

I’m glad I was a fan back in 1966.    The ‘66-‘83 run sustains me when the team falls on hard times.   The team has been in Baltimore 65 years, and 3 World Championships and 6 WS appearances is a bit above average over that span.    But that’s of little comfort to any fan who wasn’t a fan in the ‘66-‘83 period.     35 years is a long time to go without even an appearance in the World Series, and no real prospect on the immediate horizon.
