Baysox 2019 Playoff Thread

One very bad baserunning mistake by the Baysox in the fourth inning.  With one out, the first Baysox player to reach base (he walked) started jogging to second after a 2-1 pitch to the next batter was called a ball, evidently thinking it was ball four.  The Harrisburg catcher, not expecting the runner to be going, simply threw the ball back to the pitcher, but the pitcher had plenty of time to start a rundown, and the runner was tagged out.

Seemed like the sort of misadventure we've seen from the big club recently.

It was Ryan McKenna, BTW.

Lowther and Wells started on 9/1 and 9/2 and haven't had enough rest, and the O's are being careful with Sedlock, so I guess Herb was the remaining choice.

Not sure why they pitched Wells on 9/2 after they clinched their playoff spot the day before.   They could have saved him for Game 1 or 2 of the playoffs.

And now McKenna, representing the winning run, gets doubled off second base on a Diaz flyout to end the 11th.

Like weams said, his head was not in the game on that one.

We've all heard of aggressive baserunning, but maybe some OHer's would interpret this as a consequence of not being added to the major-league roster, i.e., as passive-aggressive baserunning.

Has he been on the careless side as a baserunner the whole season?

How can one's head not be in a playoff game in extra innings?
