Baysox 2019 Playoff Thread

Michael King was previously reported as the game 4 starter for Trenton, but he ended up piggy-backing yesterday and got the win, pitching four shutout innings.

Instead, Rony Garcia will get the start against Tyler Herb.

Garcia is a 21 year-old Dominican prospect who has had a tough go this year as one of the younger players in the Eastern League. He has pitched to a 4.44 ERA in 20 starts in a league where the average ERA is 3.54.

He has pitched better recently, in his last four appearances, he has gone 18 and a third innings, allowed 3 runs on 12 hits with 21 strikeouts on 6 walks.

2080 has him as a 50 FV, describing him as having the body of a future workhorse, but with a 90-94 MPH fastball his only pitch that is even average at this point.

Hope the Baysox can get some runs and knock him around. I really want to go to game 5 tomorrow!

Herb pretty ineffective. Ok fastball and show me curveball but they were on him and gave up 3 runs in the second.

Tayler Scott gave up a homer to his first batter followed by a couple strikeouts. Slider (maybe?) was effective down and in to lefties.

Baysox lose 5-2.     The offense didn’t do much the last two nights and their season comes to an end.  Still, a great season for Bowie.   They’ll be sending a lot of good players up to Norfolk next year.

Meanwhile, half the Trenton team will be back in New York in the next 48 hours to continue the MLB season.

A lot of the Bowie players were upset about this.  That the Yankees brought down rehabbers and AAA guys.
