Why should they spend more than they have to?  I he signs for slot, all that matters is that he signed.  Having said that, I think they'll be at or very near the limit.

I don't think they should, but the optics are better if they do.

Other than us, I don't think anyone cares if we get everyone signed for a small amount under the total available.  Not sure that the "optics" matter to anyone else.

I think 300k left on the table when all the juggling is done is probably not a big deal. It does however negate my promise that the Orioles would spend all of their money. Servideo is draft eligible in case he wants to quibble over it.

So he will end up getting the 7th largest signing bonus.

Seems like either misfire or cheapness to end up that far short of their pool, but I can't imagine we will ever get a straight answer as to which.

Seems like the hope was Bitsko falling to 30, but there were other options. Could have drafted and signed Casey Martin at 74 with the savings for instance, would be surprised if they actually had Servideo higher.
