But something might be happening.

Cedric Mullins is on a streak. Currently Mullins has a .259 average/ 333 OBP in 27 at bats

In August .350 average/ 409 OBP in 20 at bats

Since Hays was injured on August 14th:   Mullins  .429 average/ .467 OBP in 14 at bats

Too soon to draw any conclusions.  Absolutely   

But not too soon to note and watch what happens next.

Yeah, I like Mullins more than most here do, but 14 at bats just might be too small a sample size to base anything on, and the 27 at bats were kind of just meh.  But you're right - we'll see.

If Mullins can turn into a doubles hitter who can steal a base and play above average defense then sign me up. That was my original hope for him but he’s played too poorly for too long for me to let myself have hope. I’d love to see it though

As soon as Hays comes back we probably won't see Mullins for a long long time. Unless you want to hold back Mountcastle even longer.

On the contrary, it might make more sense to have Mullins available as a defensive specialist.

Why would sample size matter in a season that isn’t big enough for a sample size?
