Well I guess Mountcastle + Smith is better than Mountcastle + Davis, but part of me was hoping to rid of one of these guys more permanently.

Permanently seems a bit excessive.

But, Smith is marginally more useful than Davis.  And, he can go when Hays is ready to play.
