Orioles sign catcher, pitcher

It’s unclear what happened with Nottingham last year.  He was outrighted to AAA in June by Seattle but it doesn’t appear that he played in the minors after he was outrighted.   It’s not clear if he got hurt or just went AWOL.   The Mariners released him in September.

Edit - looks like an “undisclosed injury,” per Rotowire.

Roch on Guerrero:

The Orioles signed pitcher Jarlin Guerrero to a minor league contract this week, according to Major League Baseball’s transactions page.

Guerrero is 22 years old, right-handed, listed at 6-foot and 180 pounds and has no minor league statistics. He’s been assigned to the Dominican Summer League Orioles1.

That’s all I know about Jarlin Guerrero and it isn’t much.

Nottingham has signed a contract to play for the Licey Tigers (los Tigres del Licey) in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM, Liga de Beisbol Profesional de la Republica Dominicana).  First game of the season is Saturday October 15, 2022.  According to this article, they've added him for his defensive capabilities, receiving pitches efficiently and with good numbers in terms of catching baserunners.
