Kevin Brown (announcer, not former pitcher)

He’s really growing on me. He’s no Thorne or Miller, but I think we’ve found another good one. Agree? Disagree?

He's a very good play-by-play guy.  Does not have the flair of Thorne, nor the idiosyncrasies that make Thorne the beautiful lunatic that he is, but may still look good in a floppy hat.  I'm a fan.

He's ok.  I think he tries too hard with the pop culture references sometimes.  

At the end of the day, I don't care what they're explaining to me, I can see that with my own eyes.  Give me the Jon Miller/Joe Angel/Gary Thorne golden pipes.

Seemed to me as though he was "forcing things" today.  I guess early season jitters.  He's okay as long as he lets Palmer and/or McDonald do most of the talkin'.

Not to bash, as I believe both these guys love the team snd announcing, but he’s definitely better than Garceau or Hunter for PBP.

I like him. I still miss Gary, Bugel and Manfra, but this guy will be fine. Anyone know his prior experience?

Disagree. He’s like that kid who needs so much attention. With Palmer he’s not that bad because I think he’s a little bit afraid.

I am sorry but if Kevin Brown has to “grow on you”, you have awful tastes. He’s smart, entertaining and funny. My fav moment is his conservation with Big Ben when Ben said he didn’t know what the word ironic meant

I am fine with him. I enjoy having Palmer, he makes almost anyone next to him good. But yeah, other than getting a little overexcited about not overly exciting things (although that is going to be needed this year I suppose) Brown was/is ok.

So you’re saying the first time you heard him you were enamored? I think anytime I hear a new broadcaster I have to feel them out for some time before I make a judgement. I’m still feeling out Kevin, and as I do so, I’m starting to like him. Hence, he’s growing on me. And agree, I really like Ben and find his small vocabulary act quite funny.

Yes, he’s my kind of announcer. Nobody better than Palmer and Joe Angel/Jon Miller though.

I think he's pretty good at play-by-play and and at providing information, and he's likely to get better. There are times, though, when I feel like I'm listening to an excited 14-year-old who probably arrived at the ballpark early to get some players' autographs (only at home games, of course).
