Very worried about the workload.

It’s the most he’s ever pitched, but it’s not some crazy workload.  Looks to me like he’s 12th in IP among pitchers who haven’t started a game.  He’s on pace for 71.1 IP.  Hopefully he’ll be OK.

I have some concerns about that as well. This is the downside to trading Lopez - sure, Bautista is a great replacement for him as closer, but Tate/Perez/Bautista can't handle 7/8/9 every single night. Having the flexibility of another reliable late-inning option would have been nice. I don't know what they'll do today if the game is close again. Lean on Akin, I guess.

I also thought Hyde made some odd choices. Baker came in for one out, looked sharp, could easily have stayed in. Perez faced only two batters and Tate three. I don't think it was necessary for Bautista to get a five out save, Hyde made it necessary.

Hopefully Wells comes back in the pen, or maybe Hall can come up if he rips off a couple of clean innings for Norfolk.

I usually give Hyde a pass but I agree.  He left himself needing Kriehble to get through the 8th and Joey has been off his last 4 games, including last night.  He needs to try and get more outs from each guy.  He's a little too into matchups, which backfire and leave you with Vaughn against Perez in a crucial situation anyway.

That was the most pitches he's thrown in an outing, but that said, I have faith the manager has his players' best interests at heart. But when you get this close, you have to win every game possible and worry about tomorrow tomorrow. Maybe moving forward let Akin pitch more than 1.0-1.3 which is how he's been used lately.

What Bautista did in that White Sox series was just crazy.  Came in on Tuesday with runners on 1st and 3rd and only one out in the 8th and escaped that jam, getting five outs to close out the win.   Then last night pitched two innings with the automatic runner on second to begin the inning and allowed neither one to score, setting us up for the game-winning hit.   We are asking a lot from the big guy, and he keeps producing.   He’s been amazing.

Bautista looks great. Loved seeing him use his fastball more last night.  Anyone watch Luis Robert in this series and say wtf.  I've seen hitters release the top hand and wind up swinging one handed when fooled.  Robert continually took the bottom hand off and swung like he was playing whiffle ball.  Never have seen anything like it.

Apparently Robert is dealing with some sort of injury.  At least that's what some of the comments from White Sox fans said.
