One thing I want to add to the SG discussion and talking about analysts/Keith Law, etc. Let’s say we took Martin (I wanted Lacy) instead of Kjerstad. And you think Elias should have taken Kjerstad. You can use that high profile prospect as the Blue Jays did in trading Martin, to  acquire other pieces. So even if you thought Martin/Lacy were bums, they still were valuable. We wouldn’t know because Elias doesn’t acquire talent to help our major league club. He just says we need another year or two more, rebuild behind schedule, need more talent in the system (so it can be lost in the rule 5 I guess). 
 

People keep falling for this nonsense, wake up. He’s not awful but needs to be held accountable when he makes bad moves or he will just keep doing it.

I think Elias has proved he’s a very good draft strategist.  Our farm system is ranked no. 1 by several sources, without the benefit of hardly any international players at the higher levels because of the situation Elias inherited there.  Our ranking is not an accident.   It’s the result of excellent work by Elias and his staff.

Elias proved in 2019 that he’ll take the consensus no. 1 guy if he agrees that’s the best guy.   So it’s ridiculous to speculate that he won’t take Jones if he thinks he’s the clear BPA.   I’m not saying that’s who he’ll take, but for you to say he won’t take Jones is unjustified.

His non  1st round pjicks  look pretty good so far.   Mayo, Westburg, Rhodes,  Hernaiz, Stowers.   I'd say that should give you a pretty good idea.

He’s done really well with his top few rounds, not just his top pick.  But fair enough.   I’m hoping to find out.

Let me concede now. Elias' drafts suggest he'll draft like crap without a top 5 pick. Now, back to Druw Jones.

I really don’t know how a non-scout could answer that question.   My sense is that he has less swing and miss than Elijah Green and is the more instinctive outfielder.   And, he’s bigger and plays a more important defensive position than Termarr Johnson.  Johnson also is hurt because he plays against weaker competition so nobody is quite sure how he’d fare against a steady diet of elite pitching.   

Anyway, all that is what I’ve heard from various pundits.   Whether there are other views out there, I’m not sure.

If he's the best prospect since Bryce Harper we will pick him. I find that hard to believe, but I seriously doubt Elias skips out on that. A true elite CF is so valuable.
