This basically has to be the beginning of the end of umpires calling balls and strikes, since umpires come up through the minors just like players. If they're not calling the strikezone in AAA, how can they do it in MLB. I think we all knew it was coming but it seems like 2023 will be the last year as you said. Kind of sad in a nostalgic way. If I can't blame Joe West for my team's failure, I'll have to come to grips that my team is just actually bad...

I’m surprised.  It seems like the players didn’t like it in the leagues where this was tried last year.

For me,  this is the best news all off-season.  And I'd probably still feel that way even if the Os had been much more active.
