Agreed.  Seems very clear that Cowser's PT will probably be very limited for the rest of the season.  He'll get another good crack at it next year.

Hays has been one of the worst hitters in baseball the last month and a half of the season.  His Ops since the all star break is .460, even Mateo is at .533.

08/15 lineup. Would prefer to see Westburg play, but a fairly solid looking lineup and hoping Hays can snap out of his slump.

I too prefer Westburg, but have grown to appreciate Frazier more and more.

It is odd how much they sit Westburg. He is one of the best defenders on the team. He is one of the fastest players on the team. He is hitting reasonably well but they just have to play their vets.

Westburg is on a 4.6 bWAR pace over 162 games played compared to 2.0 bWAR for Frazier. The Orioles are a better team when Westburg plays and at this point he should be an everyday player who sits one game a week.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Frazier having a .951 OPS in his career against Wacha.

Do you think how a hitter did against a pitcher in say 2017 should make any difference?

I think familiarity helps, yes.

I think that a hitters performance against pitch types carries more weight.

A pitcher's arsenal can change significantly in six years.
