I check the IL individual stats every few days, but I hadn't looked at the IL standings for a while. The Tides are 31-12, eight games ahead of second-place Durham in the IL East and five games ahead of the first-place teams in the IL West. Pretty good.

The Tides have outscored their opponents by 126 runs. The next best run differential in the IL is +41. If you assume each of the Tides' 12 losses was by only one run, they would have a +138 run differential in their 31 wins, an average margin of victory of 4.45 runs. To the extent some or all of the losses were by more than a run, the average margin in the Tides' 31 wins has been higher than 4.45 runs. Now that's impressive.
