Athletic, Maeda an option for Orioles (Signs 2 year deal with Detroit)

Maeda could be the bargain of the offseason. It really depends on how much he pitches. When he pitches, he’s very good.

Reminds me a little bit of Koji in that way.

If you toss out Maeda's 10 run / 3 innning outing last season when he was very clearly pitching hurt he would have finished with a 3.47 ERA for the season.  Remind me again how many SPs on our staff last season had a sub 3.50 ERA? 

lets just go ahead and toss out every pitcher on the markets worst 10 starts and sign guys based on that.

No argument there. I just don't think you're going to find a better pitcher at that price point, except for maybe Seth Lugo.

It's called analysis as opposed to making blind uninformed statements after glancing at the surface numbers. And it was one start (exegerate much?) and I was watching the game. He was CLEARLY hurt / injured and went on the IL soonafter.
