Um, yes? It's a very good lineup that now includes Westburg instead of Frazier. Just because it doesn't include one rookie doesn't make it a bad lineup, lol. 

Not saying I agree with the decision at all, but let's keep our emotions in check here.

The sale is still not final/official yet, but I agree with you. 

My hope is that the new ownership group will lead to change so that the org is run in a way that is first class, which includes investing into the players long term, so that we don't have to keep playing these silly games with guys while trying to go as cheap as possible.

It might have been PR speak, but it was bad PR speak.  The club didn’t get any benefit from raising public expectations about Holiday making the team, but now they get bad PR and disappointed fans and players.  
 

There would be a very different reaction if Elias had said prior to spring training: “We have a strong organizational philosophy that prospects should get a few hundred PAs in AAA before promotion.  Now that’s not written in stone and I never say never.  However, a lot of stars would need to align.”

Wong might be the starter at second with Westburg being the utility glove.

If feel like Mike Elias promised us a puppy if we were good and did our homework.  Well we did all our homework and did chores around the house and everything.....but instead of getting us that beautiful German Shepard puppy he went and got a damn chihahua mutt mix instead.  And to top it off Elias punched the German Shepard puppy right in the face.

Holiday has been hyped by the sport (not just our local market but much of the MLB marketing machine) all offseason. And then to be told a week before opening day, "sorry sport nice try maybe next time" is not the best way to treat the fans if you want to grow your customer base, especially given the history of this org in the last 30 or so years.

Roch just tweeted that neither Cowser or McKenna have been told if they made the club. So does today's news mean that there are 2 open spots for Coswer/McKenna/Wong/Nevin?

Exactly this IMO. I’m honestly not able to say if the pros outweigh the cons on this decision, but the fact that they played up his chances as much as they did, only to not bring him up when he performed as well as he did, is PR malpractice.

Perhaps this October the two teams will compete again, and we'll see whose players win out.

The Orioles do better position the 2030 roster with cost-controlled resources in case scarce dollars are needed for that year's Lyles-Gibson-Kimbrel character.
