A Reliever Claim/Trade Before Opening Day?

I count the 40 man roster at currently 38 or 39 after the Kemp add. That still leaves an open spot for a reliever claim. Elias has been active with reliever trades right before opening day the past two seasons. 

2023 - Traded for Danny Coloumbe

2022 - Traded Scott and Sulser for Comp Pick

I think the profile we’d be looking for would be a RH reliever with at least one option. 

One name out there right now that fits that is Peter Strzelecki.  Just DFA’d by the Dbacks.  Former Brewer farmhand.  RH with an option.

Not really sure it needs to be someone with an option. Ideally, yes. But I’d rather bring in the best available person and dfa as needed when we get to that point. 
 

I had thought Jesse Chavez might be a solid option before he just resigned with the Braves (particularly since we brought in French from the Braves). 
 

Penn Murphy was just released by the Braves. Had some success in the past, though he didn’t pitch much last year. Solid k rate and whip the last two years, though he only pitched 16 innings last year and walked a bunch of guys. 
 

Wouldn’t hate bringing in Drew Pomeranz on a minor league deal to see if he can get healthy and regain something, since he was released the other day.

I imagine we see more cuts the next few days

The Blue Jays just DFA’d Yosver Zulueta RH RP. MLB pipeline has him as the Jays’ #17 prospect and he was their #3 prospect last year. Touches 100.
