Glowing article today on mlb.com about Grayson.  Delves into his pitch offerings, movement profiles and has embedded videos on Ks of Soto, Harper, JRod, Trout to illustrate effectiveness of FB and change up.  Example — Grayson ranks 4th for off speed pitches in zone % at 50% (for his changeup).

Tonight was strange game he was throwing first pitch strikes and getting lot of swing and misses but seemed like everything put in play was a hit and lot hit hard.  He seemed to let emotions get best of him tonight as well pitching back home.

Wondering if this is where the board starts to turn on G-Rod.  Maybe not yet, but I'm looking forward to the posts prognosticating that he's "just a #2" or "a mid-rotation guy"

Hopefully not. Every pitcher has a bad game. We just put up 8 on Zach Wheeler and 7 on Gil. I think he and the analytics department will talk about tonight.

I wonder if the long periods in the dugout got to him. A long top of the third inning, and a really long top of the fourth with the pitcher injury and the umpire delay. Could that have contributed to the early fatigue? He really seemed to be spent after the Alvarez K.

Saw a tweet but it didn’t even look like the HR pitch he gave up was that bad. It was barely even a strike. He did get hard today regardless and that’s happened a few times this year, but he’s still been very good.

This start reminded me of Grayson's start against the Red Sox in Baltimore, also a loss. He struck out a lot of guys when you looked back at the box score but just about everything in play was squared up.

I wonder if his 87mph slider is really a pitch he wants to keep over his 82mph sweeper last year. The damage to the slider has been a lot worse.

If he can refine his breaking ball better, he will be really tough.
