It's decent, at best. :P LOL! Pretty crazy, right?  Once again, the RF thing is still being considered by those outside the organization.  I, for one, am in favor of them trying him out there to see how well he can adapt to it.

I'd like to point out that Mayo has made one error since May 11th at 3B and has 2 errors in his last 25 games at 3B.

A strong arm in RF and less room to cover at Camden Yards? That could be a thing.

Because Holliday will be up..and then what?  Guys have to be moved.

Seems like Holliday isn't going to be up for at least a month or more. He hasn't seemed to have recovered his form since his demotion. Are we sure he's going to be ready to contribute this year at the major league level or is it possible he needs all of 2024 for development?

If Holliday makes it clear he's ready before the end of July, I like moving Mounty at the trade deadline, putting O'hearn at first base and then using either Mayo or Westburg at DH whenever the other is at 3b.

We don’t know how long he will be out of the field. I agree that matters a lot.  But when he’s ready, he’s going to be up.

That works.  I also think we need to find everyday AB for Kjerstad.   Cowser in LF, Mullins in CF, Santander in RF, is the best defensive alignment and the most likely to get the most AB.  As great as O’Hearns AB are the amount of actual damage is good, not great.   Just a thought.  We have a club option on O’Hearn with Santander headed for FA so I doubt he’s going anywhere.   On further thought we should probably just hold onto O’Hearn.  Lol

I think, Holliday stays at AAA until you think, without risking another demotion, he can do for the top of your line-up similar to what Kwan does for Cleveland. You are not bringing him up for his defense - you have that in Mateo. We can always use a consistent table setter, however. I hope, Holliday becomes Kwan like and maybe even better. That would be a heck of an outcome. Mayo looks primed now. And, we could use that right-handed bat. Urias appears the likely casualty. I've come to the point where I'd even DFA Urias to make that happen.

No way we don't exercise O'Hearn's option.  I have my blinders ready for the junk that'll be said.

      It's been disappointing how Dean has pitched in his rehab starts, but sometimes you gotta give a guy the benefit of the doubt and just assume he turns it back on when he's back up here. I think he's earned that, and I'm not even the biggest Kremer guy.  I say call him up, chuck Irvin in the pen, and go from there.

      Kremer can stay at Norfolk for the rest of the year if that is what Elias thinks is best for the team.   His rehab can go until July 15th.   And he can be optioned to Norfolk if that is the right thing to do. The question in front of Elias is:   Is Kremer ready to be a better starter than Irvin?

      Which is why it’s not getting done. You are willing to overlook the warts. I doubt Elias would ….. look at the Cease deal. They got Thorpe #4 (#64 of the top 100), a RP that has a 3 era so far this year, and 2 DSL kids ..one of which was their #7.    So this year that’s Kjerstad/Mayo, Norby , Armbruester, and a DSL Kid. Honestly, you feel Crochet is worth more than Cease? Because that’s what you’d be doing. Based on injury risk abd stuff …I don’t. I’d say Norby, Arias, Nolan Hoffman, and a 20 year old DSL player is more than fair

      I don't have any doubt this team can, too. But they haven't given themselves much opportunity from a numbers standpoint.  That said, I think this is the first year we're really seeing some guys developing from the last few drafts. Plenty of interesting guys, but they're all pretty much below the AAA level.  Re: the OP, the GM was Andy MacPhail and his head and heart were in the right place, but ultimately we can see now that was kind of a flawed premise. Position players stay healthier, they have less variance and risk, and they play every day. It just makes sense to make them a majority of your draft.

      The write up at MLB Traderumors said he was going to the KBO but remained in the US because his wife was expecting. Now the baby is here, maybe he reconsiders the KBO as a great way to get away from 2 AM feedings.

      I just don’t know why this horse keeps getting beat to death.    Yes, the Orioles are fairly adept at drafting position players and bats.    I’m hoping they’ll buy some pitching soon. Regardless, this is one of the top teams and the top front offices in the game. That doesn’t excuse that they haven’t done a bang up job on drafting and developing pitching but it’s clear that they know what they’re doing.
