What is the O's magic number for home field advantage for the 1st round of the playoffs?

So what needs to happen so we avoid the Tigers in the WC round. They have owned us the past 2 weeks and they just called up Jobe to be another arm we can’t hit.

From a game theory/win the WS standpoint, we might want to face the best team in a three game series and hope we get lucky.

The O's outscored them 20-18 in the six games. I wouldn't say they "owned" us.

Just looked at 10-day forecast as Helene remnants could be lingering next Tuesday.

FWIW it now says Baltimore 67% precip Tuesday down to 24% Wednesday.

Last year's TEX disaster, some of the memories are still impressionistic here.    I believe weather complicated the game start time of Grayson's first postseason appearance, in which he did not thrive.

Rain delayed the start of Game 1 by an hour or more, but that was Bradish, not Grayson.   Not saying it didn't for Grayson, I just don't remember it.

I'm going to Bills/Ravens Sunday night and Orioles game 1 Tuesday night.   I could get wet both times as the forecast currently stands.

Grayson's start was not delayed last year, I was at game 2 and it was a crisp clear day all day leading up to first pitch.

If anything hurt Grayson it was that he didn't pitch in the final series. He didn't pitch in a game between Wednesday 9/27 and Sunday 10/8. I still think John Means was the plan for Game 2 until the injury.

Assuming the O's are the #4 seed, is it already predetermined that they would face NY in the ALDS? Why wouldn't NY, as the #1 seed, play the lowest remaining seed?

How MLB playoffs work: How many teams, format and more

Are teams reseeded after the Wild Card Series?
No. The No. 1 seed will face the winner of the Wild Card Series between the Nos. 4/5 seeds, while the No. 2 seed will face the winner of the Nos. 3/6 series. This ensures that the No. 1 seed won't face another division winner in the Division Series round while still preserving the bracket system.

They’re not the best team. Not even close. I’d rather face the team that just took two series from us. Odds are we’re gonna win the next one.
