I almost fell out of my chair when I just heard the name "Rodrigo Lopez" when they were doing Phillies-Mets highlights on MLB Network. But he pitched pretty well and got the win. Way to go Rodrigo.

You can say that again. Desperate for Ibanez to return, desperate for Rollins to remember how to hit a ball, desperate for the bullpen to return to last year's performance...and desperate to figure out what to do about the rotation.

If Lopez works out for them it'll be a real bonus, but apparently they still want another bona fide starter, and they're hoping the market for a trade loosens up a bit in the next couple weeks. Otherwise they'll be calling up Carlos Carrasco (I'm not a believer) or maybe even Kyle Drabek (I think they should bring him up pronto).

I was happy to see Lopez do well the other day. I always liked him, and he's battled back from injury. I hope he can be part of the answer for Philadelphia, but he's not the total solution to their problems.
