Roch chimes in:

@MyKBO Doesn't sound like anything today beyond Matt Antonelli. But #orioles definitely pursuing Tae-hyon.

Supposedly the Seoul Sports Front Page for tomorrow: http://mlbpark.donga.com/mbs/fileUpload/kbotown/201111/file181419_1436.jpg

Headline on the story says " 'Chong Tae-hyon headed to Baltimore for 3.2 million dollars for 2 years"

I'm intrigued. A lot more promising than your garden-variety Accardos and Rapadas and the like. Duquette seems to be much more aggressive internationally, at least at first glance.

Let's remember that this is just a 32 year old bullpen arm. A good signing if it happens. Looks like he won't be expensive. Low risk, high reward. This isn't a guy that is going to put butts in the seats at Camden Yards though. DD has more moves he has to make this offseason.

Low risk, high reward, opens door to new talent market (maybe).

Winning puts buts in the seats, not signings.

I agree. I'm not at all worried about whether the moves the Orioles make this winter sell tickets - they probably won't, to any significant degree. But if several small moves add up to a big improvement in the team's record at a fairly low incremental cost, Duquette will have done his job. Win first, and the fans will notice.

When you have as much ground to make up as the O's do, its the little things that can make the most impact. Guy with some upside and relatively inexpensive bullpen help. Think its wise to wait to look at the signings in totality before judging Duquettes off season but I like the aggressive move into the international market. That if anything is a big big plus to see.

Is there a move that will change your mind on that?

There is a chance the O's could make no moves in Januray or February I will get the optimistic Orioles fever that I always get around spring training and renew anyway. I'd like to hear about or young arms and how they are doing going into spring training. Guys like Arrieta recovering from surgery, Matusz getting stronger, and even Tillman. If I can get some hope about our young arms going into the season again, then I'll probably renew.
