Anyone heading to Cleveland?

They're loud and rowdy of course but the worst thing... If you dare wear any different team's gear you get booed and taunted unmercifully, especially if you get up to go to the concessions.

I've sat in the Yankee Stadium bleachers many times. Once, I was on youtube. It was late September of 2008, the game that Brian Burress threw 7 shutout innings. It was during the 7th-inning stretch. I was alone, and I stood up and constantly (and proudly) waved my Orioles towel during the entire song while they were playing the "YMCA" song. They serenaded me with the entire "Why are you Gay?" routine, and I kept waving my towel, standing on my seat.

The video was taken off of youtube due to a copyright infringement of the Village People's song.

I have seen numerous videos on that song that they use to taunt opposing fans. At least you took it instead of being a jerk about it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It may have been a couple of thousand Yank fans against 1, but I always wear my Oriole colors and fly my Oriole towel proudly, whether I'm in Brewster, Baltimore, the Bronx, or North Carolina watching the Tides and the Keys. :)

Has anything ever been over the top? (ie. fans fighting you)

Not at that specific game, but on other occasions, yes.

There were games in which I was just sitting there watching the game, and some Yank fan that was sitting a bunch of rows behind me threw cake at me, and another in which they threw beer at me. Note that they threw it AT ME and not ON ME. Both times, they wound up hitting their fellow Yankee fans instead of hitting me (bad aim). Also, in both cases, they were immediately ejected from the game by security, and I MUST give Yankee fans credit here ......... both times, the rest of the Yank fans in the area all cheered while the guards were escorting them out of the stadium. I really appreciated that.

On another occasion, the Yankees had just swept us, and outside of the stadium, a man with his 2 year-old son on his shoulders saw me and started talking **** to me. No joke. He had his 2 (or 3) year-old son literally on his shoulders, and he started mouthing off. AND, his team had just won the game, too ...... for some people, winning isn't enough, they have be complete dicks about it, also. And apparently, this guy didn't mind (or was just too stupid to put 2 and 2 together and realize) that he was potentially putting his baby son in danger as well.

Good times, Oriole fans across the nation.

It's sad that people take a game so seriously. You can only wonder sometimes.
