Yeah, he was definitely given bad intel, maybe they thought he was a dead pull guy or something. -
This is kind of a minor dumb detail, but I noticed Jarren Duran looking at his matchup cheat sheet with disgust after Kyle Stowers hit a double over his head. My headcanon is saying that Duran was thinking, "Who the hell wrote on here that I should play Stowers shallow because he doesn't have power to this side of the field??" -
If Santander's knee feels good he's probably the better RF defensively.

Probably because DH makes it easier to pinch hit Mountcastle for him at the first meaningful matchup vs LHP -
No bias there. None. I think that he managed to not be surrounded by any scandals and was generally well-liked by everyone helped.

They had the added advantage with Cano as well because at the start of last year, I don't think anyone thought the team was going to blast off into the stratosphere like they did, and giving him a chance that he took advantage of by being awesome early on helped a ton. If Cano was an 7 ERA guy after April in 2023, he's likely off the team, he performed like an all-star instead.
