Carlos Beltran hyper-extended his right elbow working in the indoor batting cage between his at-bats.

MRI results not back yet.

Really shocking a team with so many old players is having issues with injuries.

Turns out he has a bone spur. Not going away with treatment.

...and age is catching up to the Yanks as expected.

Real bummer regarding CC. Just after he finally loses all that weight he gets such news. Better keep the weight off. He had a legit shot at being a Hall of Famer but now I wonder how many starts he has left at all.

They have lost 3 of their 5 starters but they keep winning and Hal says they won't just lie down and go away.

NEW YORK -- Despite spending around half a billion dollars this offseason, Hal Steinbrenner says he will invest even more money if the Yankees need to make a trade.

"Always willing to look at options come July, come the trade deadline,” Steinbrenner, the Yankees’ managing general partner said at the quarterly owners' meetings in Manhattan. “And I think we’ve shown that. Some years we’ve done stuff like last year with [Alfonso] Soriano. Some years we haven’t. But we’re not going to ever lay down and die. We’re going to do what we need to do to stay in.”

At the moment, teams are not looking to unload top-flight pitching. Even when June and July come around, the Yankees -- because of their lack of top Triple-A prospects -- may not be in position to deal for a top-of-the-line starter. Still, Steinbrenner sounds willing to spend, if the Yanks can pull off a trade.

With a 6-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs this evening, Yankee's starter Masahiro Tanaka recorded his first loss. Dreams of an undefeated major league season, shattered. Somewhere around Bristol CT, ESPN sportswriters are crying themselves to sleep tonight.

Tanaka not very good again tonight. Looks like the lustre is off and the scouts were right. Mid-rotation type starter. Just lay off the split.

Kuroda pitched tonight - or were you referring to the Cub game?

"The manager would have liked to have had more than just a one-run lead for Robertson, but the offense was unable to take advantage of a bases-loaded, no-out situation with a run in in the fourth. Yangervis Solarte popped out, Ichiro Suzuki hit a sacrifice fly to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead and Brian Roberts struck out to end the threat".
