I will post where i want too. He's on a pitch count to save innings.

We'll he won't be able to save innings I the majors. He isn't anywhere close to pitch in the majors. He can't pitch in the majors on a 70 pitch limit. That might be 3 innings against the Red Sox. You have zero logic.

Well Gausman does have relevance in this forum. We have 4 pitchers that can't go past 5+ innings. Right now we have one 2+ inning reliever in Britton. I know we can all sit here and argue about letting Gausman come up and be a reliever vs wasting his service years. But with this staff there may be a happy medium. He could easily pitch 5 innings every 7 days which is basically what he's doing in AAA now. Britton has been a beast out of the pen and we're still under .500. We need another one of him. Gausman could be that guy. Maybe try Mac in that roll first. But this team needs relievers that can go 2-3 innings every few days.

Roch says...

Kevin Gausman was sick at the beginning of Norfolk's season and later developed a blister on his right middle finger. The Orioles have him on a strict pitch count, keeping him around 70. Doesn't sound like he's ready.

Thanks for posting. Looks like a solid effort...I assume they pulled him because of the 65 pitches?

75 pitches.

In the 5th inning, he got the first two batters out before giving up a single. He just so happened to be at exactly 75 pitches after the single.

I don't think that they would have removed him from the game in the middle of an opponent's plate appearance at exactly 75 pitches ...... perhaps if the batter had been continually fouling off about 6 or 7 two-strike pitches, and Gausman went above 80, they would have. But other than that, they probably saw that he was nearing 75 pitches, and decided that that would be his final batter.

Is Gausman in the majors? If not, this thread belongs elsewhere, IMO.

I agree, Franklyn.

I only responded to it because it is the "Gausman Today" thread, but I didn't start it, and it really belongs in the minor league section.

Still can't pitch 5 innings. Sad.
