He has had #3 starter production for a while. Since 2022, Kremer has started 62 games. He has averaged about 5.2 Ip per start, has a sub 3 BB rate and a 3.83 ERA. Thats a #3 in today’s game. Hell, that’s a #3 in most eras. Thats not to say I trust him to be a third starter in the playoffs but that’s as good or better than what most teams get out of a #3 starter. He had a 121 ERA+ in 2022 and a 99 last year. This year it’s not great but it’s also a SSS. Hes basically a middling, league average guy. -

Basallo has an insanely high ceiling. It's also true that we need a high-ceiling young catcher less than a lot of other teams do. So there is what economists call "scope for trade" here. I would be okay trading him for Skubal. It's hard for me to imagine anyone else potentially on the market who I would trade him for. -

There are 141 pitchers who've thrown 200+ innings mostly as a starter since the start of 2022. Kremer's 104 ERA+ over that period is 73rd. There are 30 MLB teams. So he's probably best described as a #3 starter. -
If I were Crochet and had a really bright future and was throwing at a Cy Young level after not pitching for 2 years you'd have to pay me a lot of money if you wanted me to possibly ruin my arm this year for you. -
Hader had those similar requests as a bullpen guy for awhile waiting for a long tear deal he had a lot of stipulations on how often and how much he could be used unless they were going to sign him to long term deal. He never got that deal until he hit free agency. -

Do they have it as part of his contact? Can they enforce it if he gets traded and the other team sends him out there? Does he shut himself down and get hit with disciplinary action? -
It's possible, like half of their top 30 are pitchers so they probably have some decent arms in the minors.
