Brady went onto play elsewhere, if he had ended with Baltimore, it might have been a different story with his number.

Just like how the Colts didn't retire Unitas's number because he played a season in San Diego? Brady Anderson's seven week stint in Cleveland had no impact on whether the Orioles were going to retire his number. The Orioles don't retire non Hall of Famers numbers. As far as the non-issued numbers of 7 and 44, those were for people in the organization for 30 years.
