Trade Watch (It starts)

Holy hell. Apparently it could be 4 team deal with Wood going to Detroit for Price. No Jim Johnson in deal. Just reliever Avilan from ATL to LAD.

Figured that. Pretty Funny that we will have to face Wood in back to back starts. Although he gave us fits.

He can't be a free agent until 2020. Arb eligible in 2017.

I gotta agree with luismatos - something stinks here.

Are the Dodgers going to basically pay all of Olivera's contract. If so, that's a slippery slope.

Well only $32.5M of the $62.5M is owed after this season anyway.

Apparently both teams are sending more players on each side. And Philly is sending some cash.

So we're basically seeing Price and Hamels get traded within the last 15 minutes. Throw in Gomez and that crazy 3 team trade and it's been a heck of a night. Hope we get Cespedes.

Has Price actually been traded yet? Assume that will wait until tomorrow night or Friday.

@JoeFrisaro: The three pitching prospects the #Marlins would be receiving from #Dodgers are Jeff Brigham, Victor Araujo, Kevin Guzman.

Marlins fans are saying this is all trash and loria back to his old ways of dumping salary

From mlbtraderumors.com

It’s worth bearing in mind, with regard to Olivera, that a whopping $28MM of his original deal (six years, $62.5MM) has already been paid through a signing bonus. With a $2MM salary this year, that means Atlanta can control him for the next five years for just $32.5MM.

So basically the Dodgers gamed the system. Is there any doubt that they signed him with the intention of trading him. It's legal, but... it smells.
