Garcia had much better control in this game than he had in his previous one

I think this has been largely a two year failed experiment.

I wouldn't agree with this. I think we know what we have in Garcia. This year he would have been lumped in with Roe, Drake, Beato, Ondrusek, Stoffel etc... Just another RH reliever that could eat innings and ride the NOR/BOW shuttle. So we gave him the opportunity to start and hopefully develop to be more than just another ho hum MR.

He had some positives. 2.84 ERA at home, compared to a 7.17 ERA on the road. Didn't walk many but didn't strike out many either. Only allowed 5 HR's all season.

I think we'll see how he looks in ST. If he has a really good ST he could be an early callup and a setup guy in Norfolk. It all depends on who is in the org. at the beginning of next year. But a year starting and getting a better feel for pitching is not a failed experiment.
