He did make the two good plays. Flaherty made a play late that he had to charge. It would have been a challenge for Alvarez.

He did make a great catch. And Schoop highlighted an outstanding 6-4-3 DP. Without those two plays Matusz' line would have been worse.

Also Janish going into the stands for the pop up. What's impressive is these guys were giving it up even though we were way out of it.

Pedro getting 2 starts in a row at 3rd. If anybody can turn him into a halfway respectable fielder, it's our coaching staff. I saw him make a few nice plays in Pittsburgh, just sparingly. Hopefully we can get him to the point where he's not a complete liability over there. Gives us a ton of flexibility while Hardy is out.

I'll give Flaherty more of a pass for his running into the wall than I will for Rickard letting that Lind hr go without much effort. I'm going to have to watch the replay to see if he had the time to measure it. But watching it live it seemed that he had the time to measure it and go up on the wall. But he kind of ran into it. It seems like MLB outfielders have no idea how to climb walls anymore. As far as the O's go I can remember in the 90's. The O's outfielders would actually practice robbing hr's during batting practice. I don't see outfielders in general doing that much anymore.

As far as Flaherty in right. I have no idea what Buck is thinking putting no hit Flaherty out there. It seems like a lose lose when you put Alvarez at 3rd and Flaherty in right. Neither of them at this moment hit enough to warrant putting them in those defensive positions.

I watched the HR several times. Not a good video no close up slo mo, but it looks like a fan with a glove reaches out and catches the ball well above Joeys glove. If he hadn't, Joey still would have had to reach into the stands to get it, but I think he could have.

That's along the lines of what I saw. Kind of looked to me that Rickard was surprised he was that close and ran into the wall a bit.

Wow, just watched the replay of the Lind HR. That was a long popup opposite field to right, barely into the first row. The wall is probably about 350 there. Looked like Rickard barely got up on his tiptoes and got only an inch or two off the ground. I really want to give Rickard the benefit of the doubt, but if he can't make that play then you might as well play Kim. That cost us 3 runs and the ballgame right there.
