Here's a Givens idea.

Why don't we start the transition on changing Givens' arm angle and make him a starter. Sort of like Toronto did with Halladay years ago. Right now, all of his pitches are on the same plane. Having him at 3/4 would add more tilt to his breaking balls and would be easier to develop a change up. Thoughts?

He struggles with getting lefties out this year, as a starter you can't matchup. Although the changed arm slot might change that.

Changing the arm slot will put a lot of stress on the arm since he's probably been throwing like that his whole life.

He is already a converted SS, stretching him out will put even more stress on his arm.

Don't see this as a viable move.

But he doesn't have 15 years of Muscle memory to retrain since he's new to pitching. If we aren't going to pay for pitching, we need to do things like this, think out of the box. Pitching isn't going to fall out of the sky for us.

He pitched and play Ss in high school so he threw that way a lot.
