Don't be surprised to see Santander in there OR see Sisco batting leadoff at some point this year based on wha tI have heard.

Sisco is pretty fast for a catcher... his knees haven't caught up yet.  And he's a lefty and will probably get on base at a decent clip.  Surprisingly, not a bad option.

I am pretty sure that Buck said yesterday that Rasmus would play tomorrow. Gentry only played yesterday because he had good numbers against the Twins pitcher. Buck looks pretty smart for playing Gentry yesterday.

Isn't Rasmus' lifetime batting avg Lower than what Gentry hit with us last year?

He said everyone would get in during the opening series. I am sure that means Santander, Sisco, Valencia, and Pedro.

I'd heard it discussed on radio and in the press as speculative. I think it might work.

Cant remember many fast catchers. Or one batting leadoff.  But hey, Crush batted leadoff...

Yes.    Two different types of hitters, with Gentry being so-so in BA, good OBP with very little power, and Rasmus being a bit low on average and OBP but with pretty solid power that should play up at OPACY.

He's a career .242/.311/.438 hitter, good for a 103 wRC+. He's 31 years old.

Gentry is a career .260/.334/.337 "hitter", good for a 85 wRC+. He's 34 years old.

Rasmus is the better hitter and player. It isn't close.

I guess I'm just old fashioned. A leadoff hitter should be fast. And bat higher than .215 or .221. Doesn't matter if he walks 200 times, if he's slower than cold tar, it takes a triple to score him.
